Communities First Llwynhendy
What we do:

Within the Communities First Project in Llwynhendy we have a strong partnership made up of local residents, Voluntary sector organisations, Statutory sector organisations and local business, the Partnership meet bi-monthly to discuss ongoing projects and new projects for the Llwynhendy area, all residents are welcomed and encouraged to come along and many residents who do attend are actively involved with local groups made up of volunteers, they are the Llwynhendy Events Committee, The Back to Basics group the Llwynhendy Samba Band and the Llwynhendy Youth Group.

These volunteer groups are always looking for new members to join them, everyone is welcome, if you are interested please come in to the office to see us or ring us or email any one of the team.

If you want to make a difference in the Llwynhendy community this could be your way of getting involved.

We also have several Community Groups set up who focus on specific issues they are interested in; the groups are Community Safety, Health and Wellbeing, Child Poverty, Jobs/Business/Education and Training, and Environment. The groups meet monthly and work in Partnership with organisations that focus on each of the above topics, if you feel strongly about any of them and feel you could make a difference or have any concerns, again, please contact us and find out how you can join in with projects.

Communities First Llwynhendy is an outreach centre for Learndirect.  With over 100 FREE computer courses available, enrolment is continuous and you can access the training from our computer suite or from your home computer.  Communities First Llwynhendy, working with Integrated Children’s Centre also have a Jobcentreplus Advisor who works from the office.  Jill Phillips is available for appointments and is able to give benefits advice, help with CV’s, jobsearches and much more.  PACT meeting takes place the first Wednesday of every Month, 2pm at our office.
