What’s on?
Communities First Llwynhendy Partnership Meeting – the next meeting will be held in Halfway Hotel on 7th September at 10am. Everyone is welcome to come along and find out what’s going on in Llwynhendy and join us for a cuppa and biscuits.
Plans for the Llwynhendy Family Fun Day are underway. The event will be on Wednesday 31st August, 11am – 4pm. Does your group/organisation want to join in? There are cash prizes for the best fancy dress costumes.
On Monday 15th August, the Communities First team, Keep Wales Tidy, Tidy Towns, Llwynhendy Youth Group and Llwynhendy D.A.D.S Group will be undertaking an environmental clean up of the Bryn Chapel Cemetery. If you are able to help, please contact us and we will let you know times etc. However much or little support you can give to the clean up will be very much appreciated.
There are various training programmes coming up in the near future which include food hygiene, first aid, Building Your Own Future . We have a session on internet safety planned for 17th August and cyberbullying on 24th August. For more information on these please contact Gillian Handscomb.
The summer activity programme is upon us, and there are lots of exciting sessions taking place. Every Wednesday and Friday we will be at Brynteg School, and will be holding lego sessions, street dancing sessions as well as arts and crafts, family bingo etc. There will be an African Drumming Workshop taking place on 10th August, and Circus Skills workshop on 17th August. Sessions are open to all ages, but those under 8 yrs must be accompanied by an adult.
A Digital Day will be held on 12th August. Come along and have a go of the new technology available such as Ipads, Ipods, Smart Phones, Netbooks etc. Session will be held at Brynteg School on Friday 12th August, 10am – 2pm.
